The Spoiler

A further helping of transfer gossip, rumours and damned lies

Kyle Naughton

Kyle Naughton to Everton
BBC Radio Sheffield claim that Everton have agreed a fee of around £5 million for Sheffield United right-back Naughton. The talented 21-year-old isn’t expected to discuss terms with the Toffees until Monday though.

The Spoiler truth-o-meter: Everton could have a fantastic all-English back four of Baines, Lescott, Jagielka and Naughton next season, all capable of making the World Cup squad. It’s unbelievable that Coral are still offering 5/1 on Everton being the highest-placed team outside the Big Four next season.

Fraizer Campbell to Sunderland
Sky Sports are reporting that Sunderland have had an offer of around £5 million accepted for the England Under-21’s striker. Phil Brown confirmed that the youngster has followed Michael Owen and Marc-Antoine Fortune in rejecting a move to Humberside.

The Spoiler truth-o-meter: Hull have now turned to Bobby Zamora, who must be delighted about being the fourth-choice target for the worst Premier League team of 2009 so far.

Franck Ribery and Zlatan Ibrahimovic staying put?
A huge gamble saw the Sky Bet odds on Ribery joining Liverpool plummet to 8/13 this morning but that has now drifted to 2/1 while the Frenchman is 6/5 to stay with Bayern Munich. Meanwhile, Ibrahimovic says he is “really happy” at Inter and has no intention of moving.

Really looking fwd to this season now, still need some more players though. Naughton would be a great addition, lets hope he makes the RIGHT decision and comes to Goodison, not WHL!
