Inter Milan and Barcelona in talks to swap star strikers  Inter Milan are in talks with Barcelona regarding a swap deal involving Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Samuel Eto’o. Massimo Moratti, the Inter Milan president, met his Barcelona counterpart Joan Laporta last night to discuss the future of both players. “It was interesting for them [Barcelona] to know something about Ibrahimovic and talk about Eto’o, two players of the same quality,” Moratti said. Ibrahimovic, who finished as the top scorer in Serie A last season, has been at the centre of transfer speculation in recent months with Barcelona, Real Madrid and Manchester United all reportedly interested.

The 27-year-old is under contract with Inter until June 2013 but earlier this year expressed his desire to leave the club. “It’s an issue that has arisen because of the wishes of the player,” Moratti said. The Inter president would welcome the arrival of Eto’o, who has failed to agree a contract extension with Barcelona despite his current deal ending next summer. “If a deal could be made then it would involve both players,” Moratti said. “We will see, there’s time.” Related Links * Fans pack Bernabeu to see Ronaldo * Pirlo: ‘I want to stay at Milan’ Moratti confirmed the two clubs have finalised the transfer of Maxwell, the Brazilian defender, to Barcelona, with Inter in talks to sign Alexander Hleb from the Catalan giants. “We’ve completed Maxwell’s transfer,” Moratti said. “I’m happy he is going to play at a big club like Barcelona because he is a great player. Now we are trying to complete Hleb´s transfer.
